My name is Maria, a literary translator who returned to painting and watercolours after thirty years, inspired by my daughter, supported by my son, and encouraged by my husband. Painting became a way to heal and reconnect with the quiet beauty of life — to notice the poetry in ordinary things and the stillness in everyday moments. I see painting as deeply linked to translation, both transforming reality into another language, whether through words or colour. Receiving recognition from the Luxembourg Art Prize gave me encouragement and strengthened my dedication to this new creative chapter. My work, rooted in tenderness and emotional depth, is my way of remembering, loving, and sharing — and I would be honoured if one of my pieces found a place in your world.
